Boston College Women in Business is an organization, network, and community of undergraduate female students dedicated to their empowerment and education. WIB is committed to the growth and expansion of professional and personal opportunities for its members, with a focus on business, leadership, and female celebration and innovation. Additionally, the group is devoted to helping students answer Father Himes' three crucial questions in the development of their vocation:  1) What brings me joy? 2) What am I good at? 3) Who does the world need me to be?

EY Women in Technology Conference

Participants should be at least two years from graduation (rising junior if on a four-year degree plan) and pursuing a degree in Science, Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.), Engineering, Math, or a related field. Students will be selected based on their academic achievements, leadership and extracurricular activities, communication skills, and interest in a technology career with a professional services firm. Additionally, attendees will be considered for a future internship and/or full-time opportunities.

Position requirements:

  • Students who self-identify as female, are two years from graduation and are studying Science, Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.), Engineering, Math, or a related field 
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.2
  • Hold a significant interest in professional services and a career in technology
  • Possess integrity, maturity, dependability and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrate analytical, teamwork and organizational skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

oin WIB and female members from GE at Barcelona restaurant in Brookline on Wednesday, February 22nd at 6 PM to discuss the importance of Business Etiquette and Demystifying Careers in Finance.  GE Global Process Leader for Financial Planning and Analysis, Brigid Tobin, and Financial Planning and Analysis Leader for the GE Oil and Gas Digital Solution business, Vicki Devins, will be joined by 2-3 of their colleagues completing the Financial Management Program to demonstrate a wide variety of career opportunities.
 
We will be discussing a variety of topics over delicious tapas including nontraditional finance careers, stereotypes for females in finance, business etiquette, and navigating difficult career questions.
 
This event is meant to be an informal opportunity to connect with females in the field.  Resumes are not required and dress is casual! Space is limited and will be given on a first-come, first serve basis.  Reserve your spot ASAP by filling out the survey.

Come to our very first Cookies and Conversation of the year with Suzannah Cooke (BC Class of ’08). Suzannah works in Boston as a sales manager at the hyper-growth start up, Rapid7. She’s been incredibly fortunate to have several female mentors as she advances her career in a typically male dominated industry – security software sales. She has advanced her career in numerous says, navigated the field of technology and built and coached several top performing teams that change the way her company has gone to market and truly changed the security landscape. She is passionate about coaching and advocating for the females within my her circle to become a solid, sound voice at the negotiation table – with customers, peers and in their own career.
