Women in Business

Boston College Women in Business is an organization, network, and community of undergraduate female students dedicated to their empowerment and education. WIB is committed to the growth and expansion of professional and personal opportunities for its members, with a focus on business, leadership, and female celebration and innovation.

Additionally, the group is devoted to helping students answer Father Himes' three crucial questions in the development of their vocation:  

1) What brings me joy?

2) What am I good at?

3) Who does the world need me to be?




Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), one of the largest travel management companies globally has 18,000 employees worldwide, is growing!   CWT is hiring a new team in the NE and has openings for entry level outside sales positions.  Interviews will take place most likely in early in November on or near campus.  The start date for this group is January 19. We at Bulger Partners are focused on providing strategic advice to private equity clients and their portfolio companies within the software/tech industries. We currently work for 16 of the top 30 PE firms worldwide. We work exclusively within software and technology, so a demonstrated interest in the space is a must. Darkroom is a socially-driven print marketplace that allows photographers, brands and visual content creators to sell physical prints of their work while also supporting the causes they are passionate about. Our sellers upload the photos they want to sell, set a time limit those photos will be available for (similar to a pop-up gallery) and a charity they'd like to donate to. We've partnered with photographers across the US whose following largely ranges from around 10-150K on Instagram. Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. is a leading multi-national consumer packaged goods company (CPG), specializing in the sales of Cranberry and Grapefruit products. Formed as a Grower-Owned Cooperative in 1930, Ocean Spray® is owned by a diverse network of over 700 Cranberry and Grapefruit Farmers. The Summer Business Analyst role will provide a diverse introduction to working at a global consumer packaged goods company. The intern will support key stakeholders across multiple teams through business analytics, syndicated data mining, field level observation, and new thought creation. Position will start in June 2018 and run through August 2018 – candidates must be available for a minimum of 10 weeks (12 weeks maximum).  Position is located at our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA (about 45 minutes South of Boston – Exit 5 off of Rte 495).

The WINning with Deloitte program will provide a mentoring experience designed to foster connections between top female talent and female client service professionals.  The program is a series of workshops with a focus on women in business, leadership skills, as well as networking and mentoring. Participants are expected to attend all sessions, which will take place from November 2017 to February 2018. True Entrepreneur Corps (TEC) Fellowship brings college students to the San Francisco Bay Area to spend the summer working in early-stage startups and gain firsthand exposure to the entrepreneurial process . TEC Fellows also participate in a weekly speaker series at True Ventures' downtown San Francisco office. HackBeanpot 2018, a student-run hackathon based in Boston, is an opportunity where students of all skill levels come together to work on projects to build creative technology. We encourage participation from people of all academic backgrounds--last year we had every major from Philosophy to Nursing. Over the course of the weekend, we get together to eat good food, play fun games, and build cool technology. The Thiel Fellowship is a two-year program for young people who are interested in building new things outside of a traditional path. The Thiel Fellowship offers $100,000 in an equity free grant, allowing fellows the freedom to work on a company or project outside of a traditional path. To be eligible, one must be 22 or younger and without a college degree. There is no application fee and it takes 20 minutes or so. You can always update your application once you’ve submitted.

The topics covered provide practical application of the standards and methods professional analysts apply on the job. This case study explores the story behind Monster Beverage Corp. The company’s stock price declined 50% in 2012 and later gained 300% from 2012 - 2015. We discuss key fundamental events that caused the stock price to decrease.
