Cheers WIB 2015-2016!
What a year it has been... None of us are sure how we are yet again at the end of the year and what a wonderful opportunity to look back on a fabulous year for Women in Business. We cannot thank our incredible members enough for making this the most successful and exciting year for WIB yet! We have experienced, grown, and led this past year and we have so much to be proud of. Take a peek at the overview of Women in Business 2015-2016 and all of the wonderful opportunities our members took advantage of:
Mind: Women in Business first and foremost is an organization of undergraduate women who are interested in acquiring valuable skills relevant to any industry post-graduation such as networking, etiquette, and introductions. Our events throughout the year cater to this as well as introducing young women to a variety of fields both related and unrelated to business. Within our group, we foster a supportive network of women from all grades through club socials and a formal mentoring program between upper- and underclass women.
2015-2016 Events: Career Corner (Bank of America, Citi, Fidelity, GE, Epsilon, EY, Google, PNC, PwC, JP Morgan, Grant Thorton, TD Securities, Accenture), Pre-Professional Series (Resume Session and Consultation, Cover letter Session and Consultation, Interview Session and Case Study Workshop), Panel Series (Concentration/Major Panel, Study Abroad Panel, Internship Panel), Women in Business Gala, Dress to Impress Bloomingdales Event, Pitch Competition, WIB Bootcamp, and more.
Body: Women in Business is committed to empowering young women in the corporate world. As young women eager to make our mark on the business world, we believe that along with a strong résumé should come a physically strong and healthy job candidate. Many students at Boston College are committed to healthy lifestyles; however, keeping with a regimented health and fitness schedule can be difficult when we have numerous time commitments, on-campus and off. Our Health and Wellness Program will offer exclusive WIB workout classes on campus and at outside businesses. WIB Health and Wellness social events will always be stocked with green juice, fresh fruits, salads, and healthy snacks. The WIB Health and Wellness Program will offer members the opportunity to get healthy while socializing and building connections with female business leaders.
2015-2016 Events: Relay for Life, Modern Barre, Pure Bare, 5K Strong Women Strong Girls, Yogaworks, Spin Classes at Plex, and more.
Soul: Women in Business is proud to provide a community and network for its members outside of traditional professional events. WIB welcomes you to community-based events that promote both personal and professional growth through unconventional means. Additionally, WIB is working to not just participate in the female community at Boston College, but to improve it. So, come join us for heart-to-hearts at one of our socials, through our mentorship program, or by engaging in dialogue through the Women's Caucus.
2015-2016 Events: Summer Book Club Series, Summer Dinner Series, Sponsorship Program, Fall and Spring Town Hal, Student Involvement Fair, Boston College Women’s Summit: Own It, WIB Ambassador Program, Article Club with Professors, Trend Tribe Talk, Leader Series: Amy Cuddy, Pam Hamlin, Lauren McGoodwin, Leadership Retreat, Cookies and Conversation (KPMG, PwC, Fidelity), WIB Blog, and more.
